Hi, I have set up a subscription form on my main page. Upon submitting the form and confirmed subscription from the Double Opt-In email, the automation email wasn’t sent.
    Kindly advise. Thank you.

Hi @lessismore1 , thank you for reaching us.

    Can you confirm 2 things:

    1. Do you have an SMTP setup using an SMTP plugin? If yes, can you check the email log if the mail was sent?
    2. Did you check your spam folder in your email?

Meanwhile, I believe you are one of our Pro users. It would be best if you would reach us directly via support so that we can assist you more promptly.

This forum is for free users only. Hope you understand.

I dont think I’m Pro user.

I do have a message on my dashboard saying SMTP not set up.
And I’m not able to find out how to do it.

The automatic email went thru when I was testing it last night and as I test it again today, its not working even waited out for hours.

Hi, @lessismore1 , Mail Mint is a self-hosted solution and it uses the default SMTP setup on your site.

You have to connect an SMTP such as Brevo, Postmark, etc which you can connect using any SMTP plugin such as FluentSMTP, WP Mail SMTP, etc.

Once SMTP is set up, Mail Mint’s emails will go through.

Brevo has a generous free SMTP service for small email lists. You can use that for testing purpose and then in the future, you can decide on which SMTP service to go for.

Let me know if you have more questions.

    Thanks.

Hi @lessismore1 , can you check the following:

    • The email address you used to submit the form, is it added in the contacts list of Mail Mint?
    • If yes, is the status Pending?

Also, please give us a link to a page where you have the form placed. We will try submitting a form and see if we receive the automation email.

    The page will be https://www.geseho.com.

Yes, the email is added to the contact list and status at Pending.

Hi @lessismore1 , can you confirm that you received the double opt-in email?

If yes, then can you open the email and click on the confirmation link and check if it changes the contact status to subscribed?

    Thanks.

I did receive the double opt-in email. After clicking on the confirmation link, the status remain as pending. And no automatic email receive.

@lessismore1 Thanks for letting us know.

    Plrease do the following:

    1. Go To Mail Mint > Settings > Double opt-in
    2. Click on Open Template Editor
    3. Select the button on the button link, remove whatever is there, and place this:
      {{link.subscribe}}

      See image.
    4. Now, remove your email from Mail Mint’s contact list.
    5. Clear all cache from your caching plugin (if any).
    6. Open the page link in a new incognito window and opt-in again.
    7. When you get the confirmation email, click on the button.
    8. Now check if the contact has been added to Mail Mint and if the status is subscribed.

    Let me know the outcome.

    Thanks.

It’s working now. So I’m not suppose to change this {{link.subscribe}}.

    Thanks for your help.

Hi @lessismore1 , yes, that is a merge tag that generates a unique link for every subscriber. So changing it means it won’t get them into Subscribed state. And automation workflows are only effective for contacts that are in Subscribed state. Hope this clears things up.

On a side note, if you liked our fast support, we would very much appreciate it if you could take 2 mins of your time to give us a positive rating here.

Nevertheless, feel free to open another thread if you need further assistance.

    Thanks.
