    Hi,
I’ve installed the plugin, set up a simple recipe (visiting a page and enroll a user in a course) and nothing happens.
Tried to create others and nothing happens too. Trigger, action, and the recipe are live.

Is there any known conflict with other plugins? What might be happening?

    Thanks

  • Hi Nelson, there aren’t any known conflicts that we’re aware of. Can you try disabling all plugins except Automator and running a simple recipe – User views a page > Send an email to see if that works? If not, please give us the details on your environment (WordPress version, host, PHP version, etc.) so we can investigate further.

    Hi,
It seems there is a plugin conflict with Wordfence. When I deactivated it the recipe works.

Nevertheless, I don’t have any log on Automator, which is also strange.
I’m running the latest version of WordPress, my host is one.com and PHP is 7.3

Thanks for the additional info. We did some testing on our server with WordFence, but didn’t run into any issues. There are a lot of settings in WordFence though, so it may be your particular configuration. Are you running the premium version of WordFence or the free version?

Can you try deactivating and reactivating Uncanny Automator and then run another recipe to see if anything appears in the log? If not, we may need to take a closer look at your site, so email us at [email protected] so we can get some additional details. Thanks!

    Hi,
I was having issues with other areas of WordPress as I was testing several plugins. So I did a clean install and test it. Everything is working now ??

Now I will test different components progressively. If I see there is an issue I will reach out to you.

    Thank you for your support

What I do see now is in the Action Log the same action show 3 times (see https://prnt.sc/sziagw).

Nevertheless, I received only 1 email each time.

And if I trigger the action again, all entries go up to 4 (see https://prnt.sc/szibfc)

    Hi Nelson,

    Sorry about the delay.

We have unfortunately confirmed in issue with a log change in the 2.4 release that’s causing it. We expect to push a maintenance release later today that will correct this for you.

We just released version 2.4.2 (www.ads-software.com is having some issues today and you might not see it immediately) that should address this issue for you.

    Hi,
Just tested it and now the action runs twice. I’ve set up a page visit as trigger (with 1 time as a visit) and the send email trigger. I also set the “times per user” as unlimited (see https://prnt.sc/t2vskq)

The problem is that when I visit the page only once, I receive 2 emails with the same content and in the recipe log I have this > https://prnt.sc/t2vro8.

Any ideas on how to avoid Automator to trigger the event twice?

Hi @nelsonemilio , thanks for confirming.

What’s strange in your log though is that the actions were 9 seconds apart; if Automator is doing the same thing twice there shouldn’t be that much of a delay. Is there any chance the page was refreshed, or could something on the page have triggered a reload, like a form submission, something dynamic?

One more thing to check… what browser was this? In some cases (e.g. Firefox), there can be the use of a prefetch action that could result in an extra page load. It’s very unlikely, but we can’t necessarily rule it out. (A page load recipe might be safer to run only once rather than an Unlimited times.)

    Thread Starter Nelson Emilio

    (@nelsonemilio)

Well… I thought there might be something that could trigger it, but I tested with 2 pages and one is empty and I still have the same result.
And yes, It’s strange the delay and happened in the first test I did also.

I’m using Chrome. I just tested it to run only once, and with another page, and the results are the same.

    Also,
Even I set up to run only once, every time I access the page it triggers the action.

That’s odd behavior. We just set up a similar recipe for testing on our development site and we’re not seeing any abnormalities; the action runs once and the recipe can’t be triggered again.

If it’s an option, can you try disabling all plugins except Automator on your site (or a staging copy of it) and see if the issue still occurs? If you could also switch themes temporarily, that would rule out any theme-related conflicts.
