The user’s avatar is not being recognized by the account element, even though it is recognized by WordPress (user panel and profile screen).

wpDiscuz collects the avatar as it should when I use, for example, a Google or Disqus account to log in.

What can I do to have the collected avatar used by the account element?

Is a snippet necessary? If so, what would it be?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello @doctorbr

For integrations like these, we require a snapshot of the site that’s already configured with the misbehaving plugin in order to be analysed on our local machines.

Could you please take a snapshot using this plugin – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/ – and send it our way? I’ll have the devs take a look at it once we receive it.

    Thanks.

    Hello, @cteduard

Does the Blocksy Account Element integrate with Google One Tap?

If I follow a tutorial to integrate Google OneTap on my website, will the Google account image/avatar be shown by the Blocksy Account Element?

    Link to tutorial: https://piraces.dev/posts/how-to-use-google-one-tap/

I created a topic on the official wpDiscuz plugin forum about the incompatibility, where I reported which plugins do not recognize the avatar of social media logins. More details

With WordPress 6.5.3, Blocksy 2.0.45, and wpDiscuz 7.6.18, only Gravatar avatars appear in the Account Element. But no user can create an account on my website (only via social login). :O

So, if the Account Element is compatible with Google One Tap, and if I am able to implement it on my site using the WPCode plugin, I will go this route.

About the snapshot; this would be my last option, as I only have 4 free hours a day for my website, I would have to create a backup and then remove the images, posts, inactive plugins and inactive snippets before creating a file for you. ??

What do you suggest so that I can continue to only allow social login on my website, but use the Account Element to show which social network the user is logged into?

P.S. When my site is monetized, I will purchase the Blocksy Pro license simply to collaborate, but still, I will only use the features of the free version…

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @doctorbr

We do not have integration with that Google service at the moment. Though, all of our security/captcha/social login integrations are part of Blocksy Pro only, as described here – https://creativethemes.com/blocksy/docs/header-elements/account/.

Regarding the snapshot, it isn’t required to remove those from the snapshot itself. We can manage with the files included as well. ??

    Thanks.

Following that tutorial to implement Google One Tap on my blog, only to discover that the avatar is not compatible with the Account Element of the free version of Blocksy, would be a huge waste of the little time I have… ??

I installed the One Tap Google Sign In plugin and the Google button appears in the Blocksy modal, but since I will be enabling account registrations via social login, the plugin is not what I’m looking for.

About All-in-One WP Migration, the free version seems to be limiting the file size, so I need to remove a lot. Also, I have to delete CSS codes that I’m no longer using…

Please provide more details so that I can send the .wpress file. ??

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello @doctorbr

None of the social/captcha integrations will be available in the free version, as a heads up. These are only available in Blocksy Pro and only with the plugins mentioned in the article that I have previously linked.

Regarding the snapshot of the site – I can say for sure that the free version does not have any limitations when exporting the backup. Right this moment I am exporting a backup of one of our clients which is 20GB.

Please let us know if you need to look at the wp Discuz integration with the avatar. A backup is really necessary here.

    Thanks.

I configured it to show only the icon.

Showing the user’s photo/avatar would be better, as it is what they expect, but I can’t waste any more time on this part of the site. Especially if the problem needs to be resolved by the wpDiscuz plugin developers…

    Thank you very much. ??

I’m really sorry, but I do not understand why you’re not trying to cooperate. We have offered you our full support and I’m quite confident that we could make this work. But again, there have been many cases in the past where we were missing the configuration of a specific plugin and it is really hard to guess what options might be set.

We never mentioned that this would be a wpDiscuz problem. ??

Again, I can assure you that you will have our full support on this one. We only need your cooperation in exchange. ??

    What do you say?

    Thanks.

    Hello, @cteduard

I decided to try to implement Google One Tap on my site when it is online. That’s because wpDiscuz plugin is using an old Google API for social login (Google+)…

Better to use our time to confirm that the information collected by WordPress, when a user login through One Tap, appears in the account element. ??

    Thanks in advance!
