    Hi,

I want to purchase the Pro version of Site Reviews. But I’m having trouble with avatars.

So basically, when I’m logged in as admin (I have my own avatar) and I leave a review, the avatar of the review is the fallback avatar. It’s like, the Site Review plugin doesn’t know I have an avatar, so it uses the fallback one.

I tried all the possible settings in Site Reviews for avatars. But none of them worked. Here’s a post where I left some reviews at the bottom of the post: https://comunidadanimal.com/refugio-peludos-amorosos/

As you can see, all the avatars are fallback avatars.

And I want to know if you can solve this problem? Because if this problem can be solved, I will purchase the plugin. Thanks a lot!

    Best Regards,

Which plugin are you using for custom avatars on your website?

I’m not using any plugin for custom avatars at the moment.

But I’m planning on using the BuddyBoss theme, which means every member on my website will upload their avatars using BuddyBoss.

Is there a way to sync my members’ BuddyBoss avatars with Site Reviews?

Because it is required to log in first to leave a review on my site. So every member will log into their account, and then leave a review.

Do you have a solution for this? Thanks!

If you are not using an avatar plugin, then your user avatar is a Gravatar connected to your email address.

If a review is submitted on the frontend and you are logged in, Site Reviews will use the WordPress avatar functions to get the Gravatar associated with your User ID or User Email Address.

If a review is submitted on the admin side, you will need to enter your own avatar URL.

Alternatively, you can enable the “Regenerate Avatars” setting which tells Site Reviews to check for and display an updated avatar URL whenever a review is displayed on the frontend (instead of using the saved avatar).

What I want to achieve is:

    1) If a member already uploaded an avatar using BuddyBoss before leaving a review using Site Reviews, then when they leave a review, the avatar of the review is the same as their BuddyBoss avatar.

    2) And if a member hasn’t uploaded an avatar on BuddyBoss when leaving a review, then the avatar of the review is a fallback avatar.

And if the same member later uploads an avatar using BuddyBoss, then the fallback avatar of the review will be accordingly synced to the avatar they just uploaded.

Is it possible to achieve this using Site Reviews? Thanks a lot!

    Thanks for your reply!

So you are saying that Site Reviews can work with the theme BuddyBoss, correct?

    Looking forward to your reply!

Yes it should. You can test this before considering any addons since the avatar feature is part of Site Reviews.

    Also, I have another question:

When a member logs in and leave a review, does the avatar and the name of this review redirects to their profile on BuddyBoss?

Is it possible to do this redirection? Thanks a lot!

What I mean is, does the avatar or the name of the review has an URL?

And if yes, can their URLs be the URL of this member’s profile created on BuddyBoss?

You could do something like this (replacing the get_author_posts_url function with bbp_get_user_profile_url or similar): https://pastebin.com/inJuU0j9

    Hi,

Thank you so much! It worked! But I have the last question:

So in the review form, there’s a field asking for the name.

But is there a way to automatically get the user’s first name (since they are required to log in first to leave a review, and they all have a first name)?

What I mean is, I want to delete the “Name” field, and users don’t have to enter their names. I want to automatically get their first names and display them in the review beside their avatars.

Thank you so much for your help!

    Best Regards,

    Bella

Use the hide option on the [site_reviews_form] shortcode to hide the name and email fields. If the user is logged in, Site Reviews will automatically use the name and email of the logged in user when those fields are hidden.

Please see the Shortcodes documentation on the Help & Support page to learn more.
