I have logged into the website you linked and both avatars display correctly for me.

Hmm. Ok, thanks. This is so weird – or maybe I just don’t understand what I am supposed to be seeing. I assumed the user-uploaded image should be displayed anywhere I use the [avatar] shortcode, yes? This is what I see when logged in as uneuser-testing.

Could there be something happening with cached files or something? The site is hosted at SiteGround fwiw.

Now I understand what you’re trying to do. You need to specify the user="current" parameter if you want it to display the logged in user’s avatar.

HOORAY!! Yes, that’s it! THANK YOU.

I’m sure that was in the documentation somewhere, and I just missed it. But that seems to be exactly what I needed. Thank you so much for helping me with this.
