- Support for AVIF Images
Currently, our plugin does not support resizing AVIF images, but we understand its importance as AVIF becomes more widely adopted. - Images with Incorrect Orientation
The orientation issue is a known limitation caused by how some devices store image orientation information in EXIF metadata. When EXIF data is stripped during resizing, the orientation can be lost. Unfortunately, this is a technical limitation that is not entirely within our control.
That said, in a previous discussion, a user suggested using tools like exiftran to handle this. While we are open to exploring this further, implementing such a solution requires careful consideration to avoid unintended consequences, such as misrotating images. If you have additional insights or suggestions on this, we’d love to hear them and discuss possible approaches.
