    Hello, congratulations on your work.

I’m testing User Verification on my website and it’s not what I expected, maybe you can help me.

I want users not to register in the database until they have verified their email.

When I register a new user, the WordPress form that sends the email to the registered email with the instructions to change the password continues to appear.

But at no time is the user verified, since automatically when the user registers their email, whether it is true or false, it is added to the database and of course it is also displayed in the WordPress Users panel.

I was looking for in this Complement that users do not register in the database until they have verified their mail, perhaps it does not have that functionality and I have been confused when installing it.

Configure everything in the plugin, and not if I have forgotten some detail and this is why it does not work

Is it possible to do this with your Plugin ?

If it is possible to do it, what can I be doing wrong?

I just haven’t set up Email Templates, is this necessary for User Verification to work?

    Thanks

  • Hi miguelapps,
    Thanks for your post.

Could you please tell me if you’re using a custom registration form or a WordPress default form? Also, share your site registration URL so that we can investigate.

    Regards.

Hi, thanks for your quick response.

I am using the default WordPress registration form.

If I need to create a custom registration form, is there a tutorial to learn how to create it?

The site is still on my computer, in a few days I will have it on a server.

Can you help me or is it essential that you see the site ?

    Thanks

    Hi Miguelapps,
Our plugin doesn’t do anything before registration. After the registration, our plugin just sets a barrier and forces the user to verify their email. The feature you’re looking for isn’t available in our plugin.

    Thanks for your support.
But what do I have to do to make your plugin work?
It does nothing, I do not receive verification emails or anything to verify the email
The documentation does not explain how to configure it.

Under email verification, could you please make sure you’ve enabled the email verification option?

Kindly share your URL so that we can try it.

Also, check this one if you’re still not getting the verification email.

I suggest you try WordPress default form.

    Fine.
    I did all the tests
Now I receive the verification email.
I also receive the email that WordPress sends by default to configure the new password.
Is this correct or should I no longer receive the default WordPress email to change my password?

I will continue testing with your plugin, and configure it perfectly, I have problems because of the language issue, and the plugin has many things that we must configure.
The documentation that you have given me, I do not understand very well.
When I’m done configuring it, I’ll leave you a review on the Plugin page.

I started collaborating with the help of a friend who understands the English language, to translate your Complement 100% and make it easier for other Spanish users to use it.

    Thanks and regards

Hi, after registration, WordPress sends you a link to set a password, and it’s the default behavior. If you’re using a custom registration form that includes the password field, then it’s up to the Developer to prevent this.

However, in the near future, we’ll try to integrate some options on the plugin page to make it easier.

    Regards.

Thank you, I have continued testing and finally removed your Plugin.

When the user registers, they receive two emails, the User Verification email and the WordPress email.

This would be a bit confusing for the user.
We must make user registration as easy as possible, not add difficulties.

There are users who do not have much knowledge and as I said, we must facilitate the registration instead of adding requirements.

I’m still reading and studying the User Verification documentation( https://pickplugins.com/documentation/user-verification/faq/how-to-setup-plugin/ )
before I did not know and did not understand this documentation, now I begin to understand a little

Ok, I’ve finally managed to understand your plugin and it does the job, as long as we’ve configured it correctly
    Thanks

    Hi @miguelappslaparra,
Glad to know that you’ve managed to resolve your issue. And thank you so much for continuing with our plugin.
I know we’ve to update our documentation so that it’s easier to set up for developers.

Could you please take a minute or two and tell us about the lacking of our documentation?

Also, would you mind giving us a rating? It’ll inspire us a lot, especially the developer who is working dedicatedly on this free version.

You can post your review and rating here:

(My bad, I was mistakenly provided the wrong URL)

    Thank you so much.
