Avoiding the use of CLEAR buttons and making available attributes visible
-
Hi everyone!
I would appreciate some help on an issue I have with variable products.
I have variable products that have multiple attributes but not all of them freely mixable.Example:
Product: Photo
Attribute 1 – Formats: Printed Only, Framed
Attribute 2 – Sizes: (4 different sizes for each Format)
Attribute 3 – Papers: paper 1, paper 2 (available selectively depending on formats)I have created the 6 existing variations out of all the possible combinations.
So on the product page, there will be 3 dropdowns.
When making the first selection on the first attribute dropdown “FORMATS”, and selecting -lets’s say- “Printed Only”, all unavailable variations in the following 2 dropdowns appear grey and non-selectable, so the following selection will be rightfully restricted to the available variations. Now, as a next step, if customer wants to go back to the first selection and change the desired format from “Printed Only” to “Framed” in the first dropdown, the second choice “Framed” appears non-selectable unless the custome clicks on the CLEAR button.
My ideal experience would be that if I want to change my first selection on the first FORMAT dropdown, I woudl’t need to click on the CLEAR button, but I would directly switch to the second bulk of available variations starting from a different selection on the the first dropdown.
At the moment I am using “Product Variations Swatches for WooCommerce” plugin so that dropdowns are currently changed into buttons aligned horizontally. This doesn’t affect the functionality behaviour I would like to modify though.
Is this a behaviour that can be modified?
Many thanks!
