  • @ronak If i uninstall Version: 3.3.6, and then Install 3.5.0 does that mean that it will delete all the “Saved Galleries”, and we’ll have to recreate all the galleries? We have 27 “galleries” we are using as Side Bar “Widgets”…just trying to make sure we’re not creating MORE work for ourselves.
    Thank you,

You can safely delete existing plugin. All the galleries are stored in the database, they are safe.

    hi guys!

two days ago I’ve had version 3.3.6 and where the plugin is used there was the error “Awesome Flickr Gallery Error – SSL is required”.

then I upgraded to version 3.5 via the wordpress admin panel.

no there is the following error: “Awesome Flickr Gallery Error – SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed”

I’ve asked my hosting provider https://www.All-Inkl.com about “installing a proper root CA certificate” but haven’t got any proper help so far.

to be honest, I don’t understand why I should get a root CA certificate for my website: does that mean, that to get the plugin working again, I need to set up httpS for my website?

I’m using wordpress 3.4.2 and the plugin version 3.5 – what should I do to fix the error?

    regards, jan

P.S. the error occurs on my website https://www.100-countries.com on the right column

by the way, php CURL is working on my website.
    see https://www.100-countries.com/phpinfo.php

when I google for the error “SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed” I find this hint: “The server certificate is invalid, either because it is signed by an invalid CA (internal CA, self signed,…), doesn’t match the server’s name or because it is expired.”
    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17084886/ssl-error-routinesssl3-get-server-certificatecertificate-verify-failed

I’m using a shared host with multiple domains on the hosting provider https://www.all-inkl.com

    any hints are highly appreciated!

Fixed it. Just added “curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false);” in /wp-content/plugins/awesome-flickr-gallery-plugin/afgFlickr/afgFlickr.php in line 218!

Thank you jimbolaya! that was it! this link also helps a lot (sorry it’s german):
