• I decided to give this new plugin a try rather than the one from its’ more established competitor Aftership. Installation and setup was simple, with the area for adding tracking details nice and obvious in the top right of the order screen.

The tracking page looks very slick and uncluttered on my website, with big icons and a clear history. It automatically adds a tracking link to completed order emails if you’ve entered tracking information along with a link on the order page itself. It also adds a separate “Shipped” email, but I’ve disabled this as I’m happy with the link in the completed status email which goes well with my email customisation plugin.

I contacted support as I wanted to know if I could have multiple carriers per order, for seamless international tracking. I received a friendly reply the following morning from one of the co-founders, who informed me the plugin would do what I wanted. Sure enough, on entering an old tracking number, I saw a package from UK to US contain updates from both Royal Mail and USPS up to the point of delivery.

At present, tracks aren’t carried across from Woocommerce to the Packpin online dashboard, but I was told this would happen in the future.

I had a browse through Packpin’s Facebook page and they are very much a newcomer to tracking services, but I’m very impressed with what they’ve done so far and am looking forward to seeing where they take this plugin. The free service (up to 100 tracks a month) is absolutely perfect for me, but from what I’ve seen it looks worth the subscription for higher volume users.
