When using a parent theme, the plugin works great and the execution of how you edit is awesome.

The only issue is that it doesn’t work at all when using a child theme. It’s almost as if the Javascript is missing completely.

Thanks for this, been waiting for something so stream lined and nice.

This is a 5 star plugin no doubt once all the kinks are ironed out.

    Thank you Neil,

I have to dive into this. In fact, it works for child themes on my installation with only a minor issue: if you use the “copy files to theme” option, it copies them to the parent theme. It obviously should be the child theme.

In your email you told me you run WordPress Multsite, so I will try that.

Anybody who experiences problems with child themes, please let me know what the problem is. Thanks !

    Hi Neil,
It is the combination of a child theme and multisite that does not work. Thanks for our help, and we will solve it in a few days.

    Carlo,

    Sorry for my delayed response.

I’m also very sorry about this but the issue here was that I was including jQuery twice on my child theme. Once I removed the second call to jQuery js everything worked on my child theme.

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hi Neil,

No problem at all ! I am very happy with people using DirectEdit in this early stage of the product.

Also, in fact DirectEdit should not break even when you load jQuery twice, I will look into that next week.

Thanks for your nice review :). Could you please also mark the plugin as “working” for 3.8?
