• We liked the idea of what Termly was offering, even despite upgrading from a free plug-in that we used for over 2 years with no issues or worries. We liked the idea so much so that we decided to purchase a 30 day plan to trial it and I can honestly say within 5 minutes or purchasing this, I regretted it. Whilst the offering is worth it, it’s poorly executed. The privacy and cookie policies don’t work with themes that utilise both light and dark theme, and with no ability to copy and paste, it looks out of place and stupid.

The banner on some browsers will pop up despite a user “accepting” the cookies, the banner will proceed to pop up again should a user click elsewhere.

The settings for the banner are just not great either. There’s not a lot of selection to build it into the site properly.

Looking at every other plug-in, they’re all cheaper than Termly. I used another plug-in that’s $40 for the year and still offers the policies with the ability to copy and paste so it smoothly ties into the site. $20 to pay monthly is very steep, considering my CDN doesn’t cost that much. Also, 100 visitors on the banner per month on the free version is ridiculous, and can put a site at risk if they get even 1 more visitor per month. So be careful, as this is a horrific tactic to stay compliant but missing the mark. No other plug-in or site out there has a monthly usage on a free version from what I saw. You would earn more sign ups based on what you offer outside of the 100 users.

Overall, a poor experience. I removed all banners and policies from my site and choose a cheaper, better alternative.
