• Hello, When I look at Cpanel, I see that the traffic is coming to the admin panel and theme pages. The advertising company I worked for asked why. I will forward your answer to them. Thank you in advance for your response.

  • Hi there,

which version of GP are you using? As your site is making a request for FontAwesome which the theme stopped using 5 years ago.

    Hi David,

I am using GeneratePress version 3.3.1. The advertising company is asking about the situation because these are included in my Awstats statistics.

    /wp-content/themes/generatepress/assets/fonts/fontawesome-webfon…

    /feed/

    /

    /wp-cron.php

    /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

    Regards

Those have nothing to do with the Theme, as the theme would not make those requests.
And your site should not be loading this either:

    https://www.lezizci.com/wp-content/themes/generatepress/assets/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2

Thats a legacy icon font and the request the theme would make for it is not on your site.

I would suspect the issue is related to caching whether that be on the server, a CDN or a plugin

    Hi;

Hello, the number of plugins I use is very few, Below is the list of plugins I use :

I don’t think plugins will cause such a problem.

Cookie Notice & Compliance for GDPR / CCPA

    Simple Basic Contact Form

    Yoast SEO

    Classic Widgets

The hosting company responded to my question as follows please see the attachment

The font style you said is not included in this theme.
So I’m using the latest version of the theme. This font already exists in the zip file.

    Regards.

Its not something the Theme would create, and as your hosting company stated it is something you can safely ignore.

However I would suggest clearing any caches or CDNs to remove any legacy requests such as the FontAwesome icons.

I showed the font in my previous message. inside the theme
    https://www.lezizci.com/wp-content/themes/generatepress/assets/fonts/fontawesome-webfont.woff2
    available.
I added the screenshot to the message.

Also, I already changed hosting after upgrading to version 3.3.1 of the theme. In other words, there is no cache for the theme and site on this existing hosting.

Correct, the file exists in the GP theme. But it is only there for backwards compatibility, ie. users who are still using old versions of the theme.

But I found that you’re are loading the font in the Header Widget for your social icons:

    https://app.screencast.com/YX4hEWZvAH18p

So it seems you need that file, but it is your choosing to load it, not the theme
