Has anyone managed to upgrade from b2 .6 (last official release) to the current 1.5.1.2 WordPress? Installing wordpress is a breeze, but the import-b2.php does nothing!

The readme is VERY vague (“You need to transfer some of your settings from your old b2config.php to wp-config.php file.”). I tried following the “guide” referred to from the Wiki, and it didn’t do much good either… it seems to be for a previous version of WordPress as it referes to a file wp_settings that seems to have been replaced by wp_options in newer incarnations.

Finally I found a script linked by Hannes (https://blog.czhannes.com/) which should do the trick… but of course it didn’t… I finally managed to trick the script into converting some of my posts but then it barfed apparently by an apostrophe in a post…

Now, I’ve wasted 4 hours on upgrading, and my decision to use b2 and now WordPress was because I didn’t have time to fook around with php and sql (of which I am “proficient” in both). So, is there an update version somewhere?

Well, I haven’t tried any yet (the first link doesn’t work btw, I have to rewrite it to topic/24942). Seems the solution is to first install an older version of WordPress… yikes. I was afraid of that. I’ll try to install the 1.0.2 now that some kind soul has a link for it to sf.net and I’ll let you all know how it goes. But the docs here that simply says to run the update script should be changed asap… since they simply don’t work.

Do you have a backup of your b2 database ?
If you do, send it to me and I’ll upgrade it to the latest WP for you then send it straight back ?

Thanks for the offer! But I finally managed the upgrade procedure…

Starting with msangapu’s guide at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/24942

I simply had to add some steps to make it work with 1.5.1.2…

    3.5) run wp-admin/b2-import.php
    5) remove all wp1.0.2 files
    6) install the wp1.5.x (latest) files
    7) run wp-admin/upgrade.php

It took a while to get to this solution, but finally my pages are “a-okay” again… atleast content wise…

Now to port all my fancy modified templates from b2 to wordpress… (which just takes time… time I haven’t got )
