• I’m writing an importer from b2evolution to WP and have a question as to how people would like the import to be accomplished. Since the multiple blog feature in b2evo is actually achieved by utilizing categories and not by actually having posts under different blogs, how should I proceed to import entries? Should I still allow users to import only entries for a given blog or just import all entries over and let them sort things out later? I can think of either scenarios being useful to different kinds of users.

  • I’m not sure how to answer your question, but I do want to offer a thanks. I’ve been waiting for an importer for quite a while ??

How exactly to *you* use b2evo? Do you have multiple blogs? Or just one blog with all the entries in that one blog? Since you are about the only one who seems to want a b2evo importer at the moment, I might as well tailor it to suit your needs ??

Heh. I have one blog and don’t use many of the extra features, but I have no problem making entries in other blogs for your testing purposes. I don’t think I’m the only one looking, just the only one saying anything about it ??

OK, posted this yesterday but the server change seems to have wiped that one :p I’ve created a b2evo to WP importer and it seems to work fine on the test database that I installed. One thing to keep in mind is that though I do have an option to select the b2evo blog to import, it really doesn’t work – it simply all existing entries at the moment since I’m not sure how b2evo users want to import their entries due to the wacky category-based blog definition system b2evo uses :p Anyway, try the script out and let me know how it goes for you. It can be found at: https://sm.farook.org/files/b2evo2wp.phps

I’ll try to get updated and give it a shot. Thanks again Fahim.

I’ll reply in the other thread – https://www.ads-software.com/support/4/5693

this can probably be included in the distro with a few changes:
un-password-ify the text fields (not needed)
    replace b2evo2wp.php with <?php echo $PHP_SELF; ?>
remove ‘,TRUE’ on line 170 (threw an error at me)
