    Hi,

We’re considering using this plugin (the premium version, if that matters) on our site. In order to plan for deployment, I need to know how the user accounts end up being managed. Are they:

    1) WordPress accounts, which are created when a user first logs in with certain default roles which can then be modified in the WordPress interface?
    2) Not stored in WordPress at all; SAML login sets the user’s permissions on each login?
    3) Some other option?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Hi @dev_null

The user accounts are created on the fly during the SSO. If the user does not exist in the WordPress then it is created in the WordPress using the information(email, username, user profile attributes, roles etc.) from the IdP. Please find the answers to your questions:

    1) WordPress accounts, which are created when a user first logs in with certain default roles which can then be modified in the WordPress interface?

    >>> User account is created using the default role if it does not exist in the WordPress. It can be modified by the Admin in the WordPress as well. We have several other features in the premium plugin where you can map the roles/groups from Idp to WordPress so the user can be assigned roles depending on the roles/groups of IdP.

    2) Not stored in WordPress at all; SAML login sets the user’s permissions on each login?

    >>> The plugin handles the user creation in the WordPress. User information is updated on each login.

    3) Some other option?

    >>> You can email us at [email protected] to discuss it further.

    Thanks,
    miniOrange Team
