• All of a sudden our back-end editor for footer.php was showing up at the bottom of the front end. See link to screenshot below (I’ve since used godaddy restore to go back to a previous version of the files and that seemed to work). It’s happened to us on 3 sites under the same godaddy account, but each is on its own hosting plan with different IP, so maybe not a server error? Also, the user that shows up in the top admin bar still shows after deleting that user. I scanned it with sucuri.net before restoring and it came up clean as well.

switch to another theme. If the problem goes away, it is a problem with your theme. In that case you will need to go the theme vendor for support as you appear to be using a commercial theme.

Ok I’ll try this next time it happens (it seems to just happen randomly when there weren’t any updates?)… Also it was happening with 2 separate/different themes yesterday ??

If it is happening with other themes, it is unlikely to be a theme-specific issue.

    What is your site URL?

…footer.php was showing up at the bottom of the front end.

I see NO issues here: https://methoddrg.com/

Also, the user that shows up in the top admin bar still shows after deleting that user.

Did you logout from the user account after deleting the user?

Don’t know if this is the same thing but I occasionally got the “edit” on every page when coming in on the front end. I have a habit of checking my work from the “view page” in the backend as I go and the front end when I have finished. I realised that this was only occurring if I had not closed the edit section first.

So you’re saying that this occurs only when you are logged into WordPress as a user / admin?

In that case, I’d suggest you to take a full system backup and then completely re-install WordPress.

It happens whether logged in or logged out. I restored the files to an earlier date (so it looks normal now) but the 2 sites giving us the issue were…

    methoddrg.com
    siliconbeachyp.com

I guess I’ll have to wait until it happens again (IF it happens again). Thank you for your help and replies thus far.

Hi guys, same thing happens to one of my sites.
seems the links are also weird.
    .com/themes.php instead pf .com/admin/themes.php
I presume it is a hack of some sort, but I cant find any amended files.

i will re-upload an older version, but would lvoe to know the cause and fix for this.
