Back end white screen/not loading in WP-Admin

  • Hi All,

    Im trying to update our website – I’m able to log into the back end WP-admin but and view the website however as soon as I go to the dashboard or any other back end page to view, edit and change anything the whole screen goes white as if its not loading. This has been going on for a few months now – it was sporadic now it has progressed to being like this all of the time.

    The last time I was able to access anything I made sure everything on the site was up to date including the WP version. Not sure where it is at now.

    I just can’t see a way around this if anyone can help?

    Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
