This has had me scratching my head for a while now then i released it was the stock numbers causing it.

When a product is set to back order allowed and has 0 stock this message is displayed

    https://prnt.sc/pk2fvk

When a product is set to back order but has negative stock this message is displayed

    https://prnt.sc/pk2eju

I checked the css and when the stock is 0 it looks like its treating it as on back order but when the stock is negative its actually showing the in stock notice.

Can anyone shed any light on this, is this how it’s supposed to work? It seems very odd, why not do one or the other?

    Hi there,

I tried to replicate on a local install and couldn’t get the “Availability: Available for back order”.

Can you please try to disable all addons except Woo and switch temporarily to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen to see if that still occurs?

I think it might be something to do with my theme (Astra)

This is the CSS for an in-stock (which is the same for a backorder item with minus stock) item https://prnt.sc/pkgmt8

this is the CSS for a back order item with 0 stock https://prnt.sc/pkgnzp

    i’ll speak to them, thanks

Excellent, then, since it’s theme-related, I’ll mark this as resolved.
