I’ve looked around all over and I really can’t seem to find an answer.

I am using this to organize images into galleries. The images open in attachment pages – using image.php – so that I can add additional info with advanced custom fields. That part works cleanly. I’ve added ‘next’ and ‘previous’ buttons so that the user can scroll through the images.

Here are the problems I am trying to overcome:

    1. Is it possible to add a ‘back to main gallery’ button?

    2. Each gallery has a url that’s like site.com/gallery-name. Clicking an image takes you to site.com/image but I’d like it to be site.com/gallery-name/image

Which also means the ‘back to main gallery’ button should be able to get the URL of the parent page but I don’t seem to be able to do that.

PS I know there’s lots of gallery plugins but there’s other things like custom fields, etc, that none of them are able to handle and I can’t style them as cleanly and easily as I’ve already done.

    Thanks!

BTW I have a fresh install of WP and the only plugins I am currently using are Filebird and Advanced Custom Fields.

    Hi @michael-divine ,

Thanks for using FileBird, but I’m sorry to say that our gallery function does not yet have those custom capabilities.

    1. This feature would be forwarded as a suggestion to our developers
    2. We absolutely do not wish to alter website file URLs, because this have potentials to cause unforeseen issues for us, and that is why even the folder functions of FileBird does not alter website file URLs also.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @michael-divine ,

Here is the opinion of our developers as they wish to make this work for you!
Can you record a screencast to show your setups and what you described so we can have a view and determine how to help?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards,

    Cool. It’s pretty basic, really.

Some Page.php with an embedded gallery.

On each attachment.php page, there’s previous_image_link() and next_image_link() for the scrolling through the gallery. Ideally there’d be a ‘back to main’ link that would take you back to the originating gallery page.

    Hi @michael-divine ,

“1. Is it possible to add a ‘back to main gallery’ button?”

==> Can you screensot this main gallery button you are talking about for me, please?

    Kind regards,
    -Bruce-
