• Hi,
This morning I had an issue with my blog – I couldn’t login despite the password being correct and then I noticed that there were several posts missing as well as my categories were all gone.
I contacted my webserver provider and they finally were able to fix it for me by restoring a backup and that worked and I am able to login but I still lost about a week’s worth of posts – including a couple of posts that are paid/sponsored. Is there a way that I can get it back?

I think there must be malware in site or someone deleted your posts which you are asking is lost. If server have restored your site post. Ask them which date backup they have restored. Do you have taken backup before your post lost. Also check trash option if posts are available or not.

Please add security related option using security plugin in your wordpress. You can use succuri and wordfence. Restrict admin user access and use strong password.

They were able to restore the back up which was on July 8th which means I lost a week’s worth of posts. Now I have a couple of paid posts which I do need to write up again and I will but it would be so much easier if I could get them all back.

It;s not in trash. I am the only admin and user but I will try succuri and wordfence.

So no other way to getting the posts back?

If they restored from a backup before you wrote those posts, they’re not gone, they never existed. (It’s a time travel thing.)

It’s a good strategy to manage your own backups rather than relying on your host. I like the plugin “backwpup” for that because the free version includes off-site storage and the ability to schedule backups.
