I created a backup of my website yesterday and it contained 12 ‘uploads’ folders. I downloaded these to my computer and I can’t open the zipped files because it says they’re invalid and empty yet they all have a fairly large file size. What is going on? Previous backups have the same number of folders but these have items in.

    Hello,

What is the exact message you receive when trying to extract them? Have you tried re-downloading them and does the same error occur?

Hi, when I click on the folder it says ‘Windows cannot open the folder. The Compressed (zipped) folder [file name] is invalid.’ and when I try to extract it, it says ‘The Compressed (zipped) folder is empty. Before you can extract files, you must copy files to this compressed (zipped) folder.’

I don’t understand why the folders are empty when they’ve been populated in previous back-ups. I’ll try redownloading and see if that helps.

Can you take a screenshot of the file names (before you decompress them). You can blank out your site name if you do not want us to see it.

Can you also paste your backup log from the backup/restore tab?

Sure, the names are here: https://imgur.com/a/U3CpFxu

The back up log is here: https://pastebin.com/hRW1cj2c

I tried creating an entirely new back up this morning but still had this issue – bizarrely, the uploads folder was the problem last week but today it was the themes folder!

    Hi,

The backup is reporting as successful: https://snipboard.io/fstX5R.jpg

Can you run a manual full backup and post the log so I can check again?

Thank you for checking. Sure, I’ve done that here: https://pastebin.com/jF1YSF3X

Your latest backup is also reporting as successful. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
