• OK, I’m working on setting up WP 3.0 (currently beta 2) w/ the domain mapping plugin. I’ve set up the domains + they seem to work OK. But the backend links all point to the mapped domain (e.g. Super Admin / Sites “Edit” or “Backend” etc.)… which prevents switching from one blog to another using the backend links. So what I have to do is visit the site first, then click on dashboard and voilá! (i.e., then it works ?? )

    This is a bug, no?

Or am I missing something? O_O

I can see the Backend links being bad (as they point to URL/wp-admin), but the EDIT links point to URL/wp-admin/ms-sites.php?action=editblog&id=# so THAT should still work.

And if so, you may need to go into the edit link and fix the blog URLs.

Well, so far I am just navigating via the site adresses and then using the link to the dashboard from each site — that works fine, but it’s a PITA … and it also seems to be a bug or at least something seems to be “wrong” about it. :/

So… how does it “prevent” you from getting there? What’s the URL like?

I use a different domain mapping plugin, but you really can still just get to any backend by plunking /wp-admin/ after the blog name, mapped or not.

If you’re not logged in to the other domain, well yeah… you have to be logged in. ??

LOL, yea — logged in as admin.

    Let’s say it’s A.com, B.com and C. com

Then when I’m in the C.com backend and click on Super Admin / Sites all of the links will point to C.com (even those listed for A.com + B.com) — but the weird thing is the “visit” links are all fine.

I visit the site and then use the dashboard link from the site and then I got where I wanted to get to.

So all of the links *work* fine, it’s just that the backend link to switch from 1 domain to the next are linked incorrectly.

Oh hey, just discovered it’s a bug in the domain mapping plugin. ?? Will be fixed in the next release.

Andrea, is that why I am making blogs using WP3 and in the admin they are linking to https://1stangel.co.uk/art/wp-admin/ms-sites.php?updated=true&action=add-blog&paged=2 instead of to the blog… when i try and visit the blog using blogs address as it should be, I get database error. However, if I make the blogs through the front end in stead, that works fine…..

Ok I can answer that myself, it was the Buddypress addon. I have removed that and everything works fine in the admin again. Sorry about that.
