Backend box gets displayed for media

A colleague just told me that Post Expirator doesn’t work for images and showed me where he got it (/wp-admin/post.php?post=123&action=edit). I hadn’t expected it to work with files in the first place. For one because there’s no post status as the files themselves, of course, aren’t posts, and for another because deleting a file wouldn’t cause any content using it to remove the code to display it. And deleting the media library post while keeping the actual file in place wouldn’t serve muich purpose.

If there’s a specific reason how expiration would make sense the way it is for media I’d be interested in it ?? Otherwise I’d like to suggest removing the plugin’s sidebar box from media-type posts to prevent confusion.
