• So for the past couple weeks my site has been alot slower than it was supposed to be. It seems like we’ve fixed the front end a bit so it’s faster, but the backend is incredibly slow. Usually 8 to 9 seconds between clicks on links in the admin backend. I don’t have a clue how to optimize that part. Shouldn’t it kind of be the same for front end and backend? If one is slow the other would be and vice versa? Am I missing something here? I just don’t know why the front end is faster now but the back isn’t….

Not necessarily. The front-end and back-end are both unique entities. E.g. they will both perform differently depending on what resources are being allocated/used.

Have you installed any new plugins recently? Are you the developer? If so, check all your plugins to make sure one hasn’t gone rogue. I.e. using more resources than it needs to. A lot of people will tell you to deactivate all plugins and reactivate one-by-one to eventually discover the culprit.

Also, web server configuration plays a large role in WP performance.

Ok that’s good information to know. I will try the plugin idea.

    Thanks
