Backers not updating

Backers count isn’t updating when I make a purchase. I’m using donation mode, and paypal sandbox/test. I’m making my own theme.

I see that the posts for the transactions have the type “edd_payment”, although the backers()-function in the campaign class only counts “flexible” or “sale” types. Maybe this isn’t the right method to use, though?
