• Hi

I am again trying to find code that I can put in my child theme for twentyeleven that will give me radius edges on my menu and allow me to change the background colour of the main page background.

I have tried everything I can find on the web and nothing has worked except for once side of the background, which changed when I was altering a colour in firebug but couldn’t trace it in my style sheet or anywhere else.

I have tried page background: #colour, main background colour and all the rest and nothing has worked.

Is it usually this complex to change something? I have been trying for nearly a week now as well to change the menu to rounded edges, and again nothing has worked at all, I have exhausted all advice from the net and on this forum.

Are all the settings in the CSS file and not in any of the .php files?

Also while I am here is there any surefire way of testing my child theme as I seem to be trying lots of stuff in it and nothing is happening, not even the wrong thing! Although I did manage to put content borders in ok so that would prove it is working right?

I would appreciate some help here if you really think you have the answer…

    Thanks

    W

  • Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work.

I already done firebug, as I said above, and it doesn’t tell me anything that I can interpret. The issue I also seem to be having overall is that my child theme isn’t working. I have a page width setting in it that worked and now it doesn’t.

Can there be something wrong with the theme? I checked in admin and it is still there and the current theme being used is the child theme. I just updated to newer version but had these problems before the update.

Download a basic Twenty Eleven child theme

Hmmm…. I now seem to have things working, I don’t know if it is certain things people post doesn’t work or other settings are interfering. I removed everything and reinstalled the child css stuff and it seems better.

See how it goes from there. I am still trying to get rounded borders on my menu thought!

Is this on the top menu or the sidebar?
