    Hi,

I am currently trying to define a background image for all pages of my website. Is there an option for this in the theme or editor? The only solution for me at the moment is to do this with custom CSS (which I have no problem with), I’m just wondering if I’m missing an option?

And no, I don’t want to use a cover block for every template. That only unnecessarily extends the source code. I would like to have the background image directly on the body element (as I would do it manually via CSS).

    Thanks ??

Thanks for the answer, but that’s exactly what I don’t want. Neither on the cover nor on the group block or any other block – this cause even more unnecessary HTML code. Such a background image as I mean can also be attached to the body in HTML and CSS. But probably not with the block editor?

Hey @threadi – this probably doesn’t help yet – but top level backgrounds are coming for the Site Editor. https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/59354

Ah, nice. Of course that helps me. I’ve already solved my problem myself. My interest is whether there is another option. It seems to be coming. Even if, if I see correctly, there is no UI for it. Not every user tinkers with the theme.json.
