background image not displaying

Does the theme have an option to add a custom background? If not, you can generally do that in the CSS code — but in that case, you’ll want to use a child theme or custom CSS option or plug-in so your changes are not lost when you update the theme.

I contacted the developer directly and found I was not using the latest version of wordpress once I updated there was an option on the dashboard to customize and upload a background image.
