• For years I’ve been making a complete site backup and keeping in it my host server.

Since what I’m really interested in is my blog, I’d like to be able to create and download to my PC –or keeping it in my site– my ENTIRE blog only.

However, the several plug-ins I’ve analized talk about dababases, files, widgets, images and so on, and becasue I’m not a techie guy and I don’t understand that language, that’s what I say that I want to back up my ENTIRE blog, that is a kind of backup that, in case of diaster, be good enough to restore my blog completely like it was before.

In the Tools section of my WP 3.3 program there’s the Backup Copy option but I don’t wjhether this tool backs up the entire blog or not, and in case it does, I don’t know either whether the resulting file is going to end up in my PC.

    I’ll appreciate any help.

  • Your ‘BLOG’ is spread over several different places:

    • The theme is in the themes folder.
    • Plugins are in the plugins folder.
    • Images may be in multiple folders, depending on the theme and plugins.
    • Posts, Pages, Comments, settings, options, etc are in the database.

So, to back up the ENTIRE blog, you need to back up all of the scattered pieces. It is usually easier to just back up the entire site.

If your hosting service will support it, one of the easiest ways to back up is the EZPZ One Click Backup plugin.

    Thanks, vtxyzzy.

I tried ths “EZPZ OCB” plugin but after 4.28 minutes working it arrived to step 5 and then stopped and no result at all.

I think I better continue using the weekly full site backup because, to begin with, I have no way to know whether the backup made using a plugin is or not a good one.

If your host supports cPanel, it has a backup wizard that is easy to use.

    Yes, it does.
