Backing up my site

You can download the wp-content folder but you also have to export and download the database Backing Up Your Database ? WordPress Codex, and that takes several steps with a database or Cpanel tool. Using a backup plugin is much easier.

You can back up your files/folders but I believe you will also have to back up your database using a tool of some sort. I use the updraftplus plugin from the www.ads-software.com/plugins page. It does it all including folders backup, database backup, zips up all the pieces, and optionally uploads them to dropbox, ftp, etc. It was very painless.

The reason I asked the question is that when I examined the back up plugins it seems they have fees. It was hard to figure out which ones have the fees and how much those fees were until I started reading the reviews.

At this point in time my site does not make much of income and any income it does make would be easily eaten up by some of the hidden fees I saw. Are there any low cost or no cost options in backup plugins?
