backtype connect – foreign tweets imported multiple times

  • I’ve isolated this issue to the Backtype Connect plugin. When one of my posts is re-tweeted by a Japanese tweeter, the tweet is imported over and over, about every minute or so. I woke up this morning to over 600 tweets on one post.

    I have no idea what is causing this, it must be a character issue. Currently I have three posts with this issue, caused by three different tweeters using Japanese characters in their tweets…

    Any thoughts on what I could do to combat this? Using any of the WordPress tools like “Comment Blacklist” have failed so far.
