• Hi Michael.

Firstly, great plugin and great idea, but it just doesn’t seem to work.

So far nothing has hit my dropbox and I left it running for over 12 hours. The only thing that appeared in my local file was the database dump and the htaccess file. Outside of that, nothing.

Does the plugin attempt to back the complete site, including folders that are nothing to do with WordPress? For example, I have a folder I store my podcast streams in, but I don’t want that backed up, as the files are large.

Here’s the logs of the plugin so far:

P.S. I’m running the very latest stable builds of PHP and MySQL. I’ve also not found any errors relating to this problem in my logs.

I’ve checked the file permissions and everything seems fine, and I run a dedicated server, not a VPS.

According to the server my httpdocs folder clocks in at 542MB currently.

    Matt

still having problems? i think that is all that is supposed to show up in the backup folder.

try moving the podcast files out of the root directory of your webserver – this may get technically challenging but the wordpress concept of putting everything in under the root directory of your webserver is ridic imo.

move the podcast files out of your root directory – or set them up on a subdomain of your current url in a completely different directory.

i.e. if youor website is under /var/www/html

    setup a dns entry podast.yoururl.com

add the virtual host to apache and point it to /var/www/podcasts or whatever

move the podcasts to root directory of your new vhost (/var/www/podcasts)

    should work easy peasy

I’ve got a similar issue. How can I manually stop the backup?
