    Hi,

We are using this plugin to create and copy backup of our WordPress website from our shared server to Dropbox. It’s working fine for every folder but Upload folder. It just fails for the Upload Folder. We have tried it several times in last two days and with various option value of “Split Archives every” under Expert Settings ranging from 100 MB to 25 MB. Server Disk space is fine.

Below are some of the lines from the log file.

Please throw some pointers as to how this issue could be resolved or what else could be tried.

    Log File:
4082.072 (9) Beginning creation of dump of uploads (split every: 100 MB)
4082.074 (9) File exists (/home/taxtrexsoftware/public_html/wp-content/updraft/backup_2017-09-22-1648_TaxTrex_67fe71361c3e-uploads2.zip.tmp), but was apparently not modified within the last 30 seconds, so we assume that any previous run has now terminated (time_mod=1506081636, time_now=1506083216, diff=1580)
4082.477 (9) backup_2017-09-22-1648_TaxTrex_67fe71361c3e-uploads.zip: Zip file already exists, with 431 files
4082.640 (9) backup_2017-09-22-1648_TaxTrex_67fe71361c3e-uploads2.zip.tmp: Zip file already exists, with 707 files
4082.642 (9) No check-in on last two runs; bumping index and reducing zip split to: 100 MB
4197.425 (9) PHP event: code E_WARNING: Error while sending QUERY packet. PID=20834 (line 1889, wp-includes/wp-db.php)

    Thank you.
    Rupali.

    Hi,

I can see from the log file that the web server provides too low resources to allow larger zip files to be manipulated in the time it makes available. You can make the backup succeed by doing this:

    1) Go to the UpdraftPlus settings tab

    2) Scroll to the bottom, and open the ‘expert’ section

    3) Reduce the ‘split’ size down to 60Mb, and then save the settings

    Then start a fresh backup.

    Best wishes,
    David

Apologies – I see you mentioned you’ve already tried that. Please try again at 25MB and post the entire log file some time after the backup seems to have stopped proceeding.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

From the log it appears that UpdraftPlus is encountering a large file that seems to be a backup file:
    uploads/sites/7/uploads.zip
I would recommend excluding this file from the Uploads backup.

You are also receiving a warning that indicates that the resumptions are not being triggered on time. This is usually due to a low level of visits to the site (UpdraftPlus can only run when the site is loaded into memory).
I would recommend setting up some dummy visits to the site. Some suggestions on how to do this can be found in this FAQ.
