    Hi there,

Thank you for this great plugin! It’s working perfectly except unless I’m missing something I can’t see that it’s also backing up all our content. Our site is quite large, roughly 1GB+ but the file that we get emailed through is 15mb. Is this just a mirror file and do we need to manually perform a full backup on the plugin itself? Or is it something else completely?

I am wondering whether this part of the log may explain things, if I read it right it finds 2012 fles but adds 1 to the list, I’m not sure though so would really appreciate your help…

    0039.124 (0) Exclusion option setting (uploads): backup*,*backups,backwpup*,wp-clone
0039.127 (0) Looking for candidates to back up in: /home/content/p3pnexwpnas01_data01/27/2211127/html/wp-content/uploads
    0039.130 (0) finding files: 2012: adding to list (1)

Our upload folder directory is above.

Not sure if this helps too but under the last backup job run it says “No backup has been completed.” yet under existing backups 3 are listed…

We want to do a full backup and restore to test our site for disaster recovery.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,

if your website is 1Gb, then there’s no point choosing email as the backup method – no email server will transport a 1Gb attachment. Likely the archive you’re receiving is just one of the entities (plugins, themes, uploads, others), and the others never turn up because of being too large. Use something like Dropbox, S3 or Google Drive instead!

    Best wishes,
    David

Thank you David, that’s great. We linked to Dropbox last night and it backed up about 5 zip files. My main question now is once we restore this backup to a new webspace and url would it still contain the old hyperlinks for the old url. Would we need to go through the site and manually change all the image and hyperlinks?

    Appreciate your help

    Hi Adam,

If you’re wanting to clone the site at a new URL, then you want the Migrator add-on – https://updraftplus.com/shop/migrator/ – this takes care of all the needed changes for you. (The free plugin handles backup and restore, but not cloning/migrating).

    Best wishes,
    David
