• Hi,
We’ve been looking to switch from updraft for multiple installations and we’d thought to try out BackWPup.
We really liked the intuitiveness of the plugin, However we are facing a rather wierd issue.
Backups Stuck when the destination file reaches 2GB.
We’ve tried all types of files(tar, targz, zip) but the issue still persists.

In the log file i see [01-Nov-2021 04:31:04] Restart after 52 seconds. with various seconds.

We tried playing with the script execution time but it yielded the same results(20s-30s)

    debug info is:

    Hello @mentrik
Thank you for those screenshots, could you please help me split the big backup job into smaller ones, for example, one job for DB backup, another one for files backup(exclude all 20xx folders prior to 2021, for example, 2020, 2019… since files in there mostly no changes) and the last one for backup folders prior 2021.
This would reduce the backup size also prevent duplicated files.

    Hi,
we have created a new backup job that includes only uploads/2021 (everything else is excluded) which is the biggest dir(around 15g)
    the issue still persists.
The site runs on nginx with php-fpm7.4
We have even created a new php-pool for the backup to run whicch of course yielded, same results.
again, there is nothing in the error log files.
We would like to purchase the pro version of the plugin, however we need to make sure that the issue will be solved before or even after the purchase.
thank you in advance for your time,
    Menelaos

    @mentrik
Pro plugin allows you to copy files by file without creating a backup job so it would use fewer resources. But basically, the core functionality would still be the same in both free and pro.
