Hello. Today when I did a database backup through Updraft, the backup did not save to Dropbox even though it said it did. I did not have this issue the other day when I did a backup. Do you know why this is happening? Thank you.

    Hi,

Please could you send us a copy of the backup log? This can be found in the Existing Backups tab.

The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Pastebin, and post the link here.

    Hi,

I’m afraid that the log does not contain any record of errors that may have occurred.

Please could you double check the ‘Apps/UpdraftPlus.com’ and ‘Apps/UpdraftPlus’ folders in your Dropbox account?

If you attempt to download the backup file from Dropbox through the UpdraftPlus Existing backups tab, does the file download, or do you receive and error?

To answer your question, the file does download. No error received.

However, it appears to be working now. Very strange. I reauthenticated Dropbox and now there is a folder in my Dropbox called UpdraftPlus.com in addition to the UpdraftPlus folder. Prior to this, ONLY the UpdraftPlus folder was there and I never had a problem with doing a backup and it saving to Dropbox. But when I tried today to do a DB backup, it worked, though it ONLY saved to the UpdraftPlus.com folder, not to the UpdraftPlus folder. Is that correct?? Also, the backup that I did yesterday was in both folders.

    Hi,

Dropbox have started shutting down the old Dropbox API. As such, any UpdraftPlus installation that was authenticated with the old API version will need re-authenticating.

Re-authenticating with Dropbox has updated your connection to Dropbox to use the newer API. Backups should now upload to the ‘UpdraftPlus.com’ folder only.
To restore any older backups in the ‘UpdraftPlus’ folder, you will need to manually move the backup files to the new folder, then click ‘re-scan remote storage’ in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.
