    sorry I didn’t complete the above.

    Can anyone explain why this should happen and what I can do to correct the situation

    script must’ve timed out,it tends to do that when the amount of data to be zipped is too large. we’re working on a workaround,but for the time being,the only thing you can do is is to temporarily move large files such as backups out from the ‘wp-content’ directory.
    by the way,there’s a good chance that there could be a partial backup inside the ‘wp-content/uploads/wp-clone’ directory which could be used to clone the database.
