I just set up a new WP site on a new webhost (fatcow.com) and the backup seems to start and within a few seconds it stops with nothing done. I haven’t contacted server admin as I’m not sure what to ask. I use this plugin on many sites where it works flawlessly, so I am hoping there is something that can be tweaked somewhere. I copied the ‘server info’ and it is here:

    Hey there David –

So I did a little checking and it looks like wp-cron is failing to respond, which could mean it is either disabled (some hosts disable it) or configured incorrectly. You can read a little more about that here:

    https://bwp.hmn.md/support-center/troubleshooting/wp-cron/

Something specific you can also do is set the alternate cron:
Try adding define( 'ALTERNATE_WP_CRON', true ); to your wp-config.php – (see FAQ – How do I modify my wp-config file?).

Let me know if that helps you get this fixed!

Thanks for the suggestion – but it didn’t work. I’m just doing manual backups and it stops within a second or two. Never even gets to the point where it creates zip file. I haven’t clicked ‘enable support’. Does that help? I’m open to any ideas. I appreciate your help.

David – yes, let’s move this into the support module – that’s what will happen when you click to enable support and then send a message through your admin that way – it will also give us more information about your site and server set up to help us troubleshoot further.

Just offhand, if it isn’t loading at all have you checked to make sure that you don’t have the HeartBleed API disabled? Here’s more information on that specifically: https://bwp.hmn.md/support-center/heartbeat-api/

Connect to support via that module in your admin area and that will help us troubleshoot more effectively.

I’ll leave this ticket open until we get you taken care of in some way!

SOLVED. My stupid error. I had an incorrect URL in my wp-admin htaccess file – identical to prior problem I posted. Once I removed that, the backup worked perfectly. Totally totally my error. Thank you for your time and patience. I will do better.
    Regards,
    david
