Backup original images

I can no longer disable “Backup the original images” (in Other Options). The majority of people using our site don’t know how to resize the huge images they upload and I only want the images and thumbnails that have been resized by NextGEN Gallery. Please let that be disabled. Thanks.
After reading this forum, I’ve only upgraded NextGEN Gallery on my MAMP localhost test site and it’s working there without problems using WordPress 3.6, the Weaver II theme, and 18 other plugins.
