    Dear UpdraftPlus Support Team,

I have been using the UpdraftPlus plugin for my website backups, and it was working perfectly until recently. For the past two days, the backup process has slowed down significantly, taking around 15 to 20 minutes to complete, which was not the case before.

My website is less than one year old and does not contain a large amount of data, so I do not believe this issue is related to the size of my website. I have also checked for possible server issues, but everything seems to be functioning properly.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?

    Thank you for your support!

    Hi there,

Could you please provide a recent backup log file using PasteBin for example?
The information in the log file may help us to identify why backups are slower.

    Best regards,

    Nick

    Hi,

Thanks for replying. Can I give you the backup log file link so you can check the situation?

Besides, my backup restoration process is also very slow.

    Hi there,

Thank you. I’m not sure I will be able to access the log file link but am happy to try.
I suggested PasteBin as it’s the most common method used for sharing the log files.

    Best regards,

    Nick

    Hi there,

Thank you for the log file.

I notice the server is Litespeed, Litespeed can have issues with WordPress processes.
There are details on the issue here: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/i-am-having-trouble-backing-up-and-my-web-hosting-company-uses-the-litespeed-webserver/

Basically the connection is being dropped and resumed which makes things slower.
There is a possible solution with the .htaccess file but please try the following first.

Go to Settings >> Expert Settings >> Show expert settings >> Split archives every:
Change the size to a low number, e.g. 25MB. This will help improve the performance.

If this doesn’t help improve the speed of the backups please reply and let me know.

    Best regards,

    Nick

    Hey Nick!

Thank you so much for your guidance! My backup problem has been solved by adding this code RewriteRule .* – [E=noabort:1] in my .htaccess file.

    Best regards,

    Adeel
