I have a question regarding the Backup feature included in WordPress 2.0.

I have searched both the WOrdPress Codex and Support forums for anything related to “Backup” , but couldn’t find anything.

When I click “Backup” in WordPress it downloads a .zip file that contains an SQL file.

Is this file a backup of my entire blog including past posts, comments, etc.?

If so, what would I do with this file if I needed to upload it?

If I wanted to backup my blog in a different way what options would I have?

If I simply downloaded my entire WordPress directory to my Hard Drive and saved that – would that be considered a backup as well?
