This is just how the WP job scheduling system works unfortunately. In order for a backup job to run, someone has to visit the website, either you or a visitor. Any job scheduled to run will then be started.
Have you set the timezone correctly under General settings?

    Hello Paul,

Thank you for your response. I understand now. Do you think this mean that the site can be slower for a few minutes when we visit it ?

I have set the timezone to the correct one and the last backup ran on time, I guess I was connected to the dashboard when this happened.

Thanks again for this great plugin.

    Cheers

    Hello ismhad,

many hosting providers also allow you to set up special “cron jobs” that are run at any specific time. Maybe you can just define a cronjob that visits https://example.org/wp-cron.php?
