Attempting to use the backup functionality.

The schedule date being presented to me is:

Next scheduled backup is at December 31, 1969 08:00 pm

The on demand backup also fails.

The message displayed when attempting the on demand backup shows that it uses WP date and time settings. I checked my setting in the wp-admin interface and everything is accurate, based on my timezone. Should I be looking somewhere else for these date\time settings?

*note that I’m hosting my WP site with DreamHost

Ok I deleted the test ASAP backups and now ASAP backup doesn’t work anymore when I test it out… so weird

The 6-hour bug I know why that happens. I think I’ll have it fixed in 2.2 (apparently GMT is sticky and I needed a bigger rock to hit it with), but the short version is that it’s just displaying wrong.

I’m going to poke at different database settings to see if I can break it that way.

No daily backup was created… and ASAP backup doesn’t work.

Weird how I only got ASAP backup to work twice before.

    Matt, two things to try.

    1) Backup JUST sql (it’s smaller), see if that works.

    2) Try running the wp-cli command ‘wp dreamobjects backup’ (but check your bucket on dreamobjects directly to see if it put it in the wrong folder)

    1: SQL Database backup worked

2: Not familiar with running commands

The commands are just login via SSH, go to your main WP folder, and type the command. But. If SQL works by itself, then we have a weird error I’ve seen in ONE other place. Okay, that’s something. I know whats wrong, but I don’t know why it’s wrong. Bleah! I’m sorry it’s taking me so long to sort this out ??

    No problem, I’m patient. =)

New update fixes the time like the changelog says, but this still does not fix the backup issues. I can be patient.

The new update was mostly pushed for security vs fixing that one bug. I have an idea what’s going on (its having trouble picking up the blog URL, so it makes your backups but dies on copy up).

I tested out version 2.3 with debugging turned on.

    Still no backups.

I’m assuming there is still not a fix for my situation yet.

    Here is the debugging info:

    [2013/01/08 08:51:31] Scheduled ASAP backup.
[2013/01/08 08:53:06] List of files added to the zip.

I’m actually meeting with a guy in engineering this week to see if we can figure it out.

(It really just stops after list of files? That is so weird… and entirely non-sensicle)

    Alright, sounds good. =)

Took longer than I wanted, but we THINK we have the too large problem ironed out. We;re using MultiPart Uploads, which lets things get chunked better. I tested on a small site, and it worked. Then I added more and more files and it still works, so if you want to beta test, at the very least it’ll throw an error in the log now!

    Thanks for trying. =)

Same as last time with no backups and no error in log for this:

    [2013/01/16 03:18:03] Scheduled ASAP backup.
    [2013/01/16 03:22:10] Begining Backup.
[2013/01/16 03:22:11] List of files added to the zip.

Did you move your WP site? I can’t find it on mattsuda.net …. (I have an idea but I want to see something first)
