BackupGuard Pro Update Fails

Is it possible that the path / file name is too long?

The Plugin update fails with this error message:

An error occurred while updating BackupGuard Pro: Could not copy file. backup-guard-platinum/com/lib/Amazon/Symfony/Component/EventDispatcher/Tests/DependencyInjection/RegisterListenersPassTest.php

Happens periodically but seem to occur more often within web sites that have long domain names. Why the long path? Why not use a short temp path?

We are on a Windows 2008 box with PHP installed. No other problems.
