BackupGuard Won’t Uninstall

    I want to deactivate and remove the plugin.

    Instead when I click “Deactivate” I get a pop up asking for my reason why I am leaving.

    Fine, ok, I fill this out.

    When I hit “submit” it doesn’t do anything.

    I am having a Very Bad User Experience.

    Please get your plugin off of my site.

    Please contact me directly to resolve this. I am not going to link to the website in this public forum. Thanks.

    Thank you for contacting us and sharing your issue.

    This is not a normal behavior of the plugin. You should be able to uninstall it no matter you fill in the form or no.
    This means there is some issue we should troubleshoot and fix.

    We found the problem and fixed it with the new updated version of our plugin.
    Please, update the plugin to the latest version and you will be able to easily deactivate it.
    Sorry for the problem with that.

    If possible, could you tell us why you decided to deactivate the plugin though?

    Hi BackupGuard,

    I really appreciate your quick response. I was able to deactivate and reactivate all plugins, then when I went to deactivate BackupGuard again there was a button to click on the pop up. I was able to successfully uninstall the plugin.

    Re: Deactivation reasoning – this isn’t my site, it’s a colleague’s, I was just helping them out – but as I understand they won’t be using the plugin, they’re not tech savvy to use plugins. If anything goes wrong with their site they’ll be relying on their hosting service that creates daily backups for their site to fix it.
