Backups creating multiple files

    My disk space was filling up quickly and when I checked the aiowps_backups directory had multiple sql files of 4.87MB. Looking at the times and dates the files were created at a rate of about 2 per hour for the past 3 weeks.

    My settings for DB Backup are set to once every 4 weeks and to keep only 2 of the backups.

    I have now deleted all of the files as I cannot believe they are a full DB backup anyway at just 4.87MB.

    Can you explain why the plugin is creating 2 files an hour and not just the monthly backup I have requested.

    That’s a good question and I’m not sure at this stage.

    What value did you put in “Number of Backup Files To Keep” field?
    Are you saying that the plugin ignored this value?

    Can you try the following: deactivate and then reactivate the AIOWPS plugin. This will reset wp cron tasks. Then observe the backups again and let me know if you see the same unexpected behaviour.

    My settings are

    Backup interval – 4 weeks
    Backup files to keep – 2

    Since i cleared all the files this morning it has created a further 12 files at a rate of 2 per hour.

    Any update on this? I’m having the same issue with a client’s site, except the db backups are 100MB a pop!!!
