Backups Going to Wrong Location

    Hello –

    Our website is set to backup to Google Drive.

    Our hosting company is complaining that the backups are going to their server via FTP.

    We can clearly see that the settings show that it goes to Google Drive, yet when we click “Backup Now” we can see that it’s definitely creating a folder on the voting server, and then uploading all of the files there; NOT to Google Drive.

    Hi,

    UpdraftPlus create the full backup on your local server first then will send to you remote storage. If the “delete local backup” option is enabled UpdraftPlus will delete the local backups and will just keep backups on the remote storage. If the backup fails to complete the entire process then the backups will be retained on your server.

    You can find the “Delete local server backups” in the UpdraftPlus “Settings” tab > Show expert settings.
