BackupWordPress never ends – RESOLVED FOR ME

    A while back I posted an issue that was never quite resolved. It seems that when my website went over 400mb backupwordpress would never complete a full backup – it would continuously run. At the time I opened a ticket with my host and on this forum – with some helpful suggestions for things to try but no solution. I moved on by using a combination of BWP and another utility (using smaller backup sets). That worked but was inconvenient. Recently I noticed that my host provider is using Litespeed servers so I did a search on Backupwordpress and Litespeed and this ticket popped up: https://bwp.hmn.md/support-center/litespeed-servers/ I am happy to report that using the first suggestion in this post RESOLVED MY PROBLEM. BWP now runs complete backups again! Just thought I’d share for those with the same circumstances.

    Were you on Siteground or a different host? I thought we checked for the use of LiteSpeed before as I usually try to, but I’m curious which host this was in regards to.

    I’m having this issue, and I am on Siteground. The backup begins, though it never completes. I have yet to get a full backup to download. What do I do to fix this?

    Hey there @copperbeech – have you tried the solution linked above regarding LiteSpeed on the server? Start there, and if you’re still having trouble please go ahead and start your own post, okay?

    Kat,

    Sorry, just saw your question from a month ago. My site is on StableHost. BackupWordPress has been working fine since applying the fix referenced above. BTW – BWP is a great product.

    yip..worked for me as my full backup was blocked since weeks..

    Add this in your htaccess

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule .* – [E=noabort:1]
