bad answer (version 2.2.7)
-
Hi
Thanks for the update.
Everythings works except when i clean the database-tables i get a message:
bad answer…
Do you have any idea why this happens?
Could it be the prefix that is added by my security plugin?
I reinstalled version 2.2.6 and it works again.
regards

Hi,
The phrase “bad answer” isn’t in the source of WP-O, so a security plugin is a good candidate for finding the cause. What happens if you deactivate the security plugin?
David
Hi David
The phrase i mentioned was wrong.
Since i have a german installation, i’ll try to translate the alert:
?An unexpected request was received.? (Eine unerwartete Anfrage wurde empfangen.)
I deactivated ?all in one wp security?-plugin, but the alert comes up all the same.
By the way, clicking on button ?save settings? under tab ?settings? provokes the same alert.
Thanks for your interest.
theop.s.: i refer to version 2.2.9

Hi,
Please could you send us a screenshot of the error? You can use an online service such as snag.gy to upload the screenshot, and post the link here.
Please could you also open your browser’s developer console (CTRL+SHIFT+J or F12 in most browsers, then select ‘console’), and try to save the settings again?
Do you see any errors or warnings?Hi
screenshot of error in german
Console info will follow.

Hi,
Apologies for the delay.
Are you using any caching plugins on the site?
If so, please could you try clearing any caches?Hi,
I use w3total Cache. I emptied the cache and disabled the plugin, but the behaviour stays the same.
regards
theop.s.: version 2.2.6 worked fine. Even with w3total Cache.

Hi,
I have made some adjustments to our development version to prevent this happening in the next release.
You may also want to configure your setup to *not* send PHP notices to the web browser. Currently it is, which means if there are any, then it breaks the conversation. (The tweak to the development version should prevent the notices, but, on your setup, you’re likely to get lots of similar issues from lots of plugins until you reconfigure that).
@dnutbourne Any report that includes PHP notices is something you can immediately create a task for; it means there’s at least something for a developer to look at, whatever the ultimate cause.
David
Hi,
Thanks for your care.
There must be a misunderstanding.
I didn’t mention any PHP notices.
What i get is an alert and a syntax error in the console, as described above. It is true, that i sometimes forget to disable wp-debug.
But so far i had no notices from whatever plugin. But anyway, i will try the newest beta-version and let you know it works.
All the best to you
theoHi,
After updating to version 2.2.10 i can confirm that the alert and the console error report are no longer there.
Thanks a lot for your work and care.
regards
theo
